Lt. Thomas Strait
Madison County Sheriff's Office.
Lt. Thomas Strait is employed with the Madison County Sheriff's Department and works at the detention center. He directs the Special Operations Recovery Team (SORT). Under Lt. Strait's leadership, the SORT team has contributed to the significant reduction of contraband items being brought into the jail facility. Thomas Strait is proactive within the department, and he takes the initiative when he sees a job that needs to be done. Realizing crisis could occur anytime at the jail, Lt. Strait makes himself available at all hours of the day and night. He is a positive example to all the detention officers. Additionally, Thomas Strait is a volunteer reserve deputy. His professionalism and courtesy while out on the road gives the public a positive impression of the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
