Comptroller
The County Comptroller, pursuant to the discretion granted the Board of Supervisors in Section 19-3-61 of the Mississippi Code, is responsible for funds received, expended or handled by the Board. County Comptroller Mark Houston is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Delta State University. Houston was employed by the State Auditor's Office prior to coming to Madison County, where he worked in the Division of Technical Assistance providing training and technical assistance to local governments. The Comptroller's Department consists of four employees, including Deputy Comptroller Quandice Green, also a Certified Public Accountant, Loretta Phillips, and Myrtis Sims.
